Mimi's Playground

Mimi got a new playground (LUCKY GIRL!) and we just HAD to go check it out during vacation!

Playing in the sprinkler.
Was it warm enough? Not really....but they didn't care!

I can't believe these are the only pictures I took that day but I was far too busy chatting it up with L. The girls play so well together that we didn't even have to break up any fights :)

VACATION!

April vacation....
Iz had Friday off from school so, after spending Thursday night at Auntie D's house :) she headed to a friends Friday afternoon for a play date. Saturday was running errands and a hike and Sunday morning we headed "upta camp." We came home Wednesday afternoon, went to the movies Thursday and saw this:
Friday we went over to SnL's for a play date with Mimi, Saturday was a get-together at R's then Hubby and I went out to diner for our anniversary, which was Sunday. THANKS to R for keeping Iz for a couple hours. Sunday was recovery day.....
Back to school today - thank goodness!!!

Vacation pictures coming soon!

Snow

We got a little (VERY little) snow over vacation and took the opportunity to get outside and play...and not get soaked and muddy :)

When we were shoveling off the deck, Iz decided that she wanted to save some of the snow and laid down on it to protect her little stash...

So we just shoveled around her...

And had our own little Iz outline when we were done :)

Pizza Pizza

Typically Friday night is pizza night at the L house and this week was no exception.

Iz made a special request for a Minnie Mouse pizza...complete with pepperoni eyes and smile :)

The best part? It tasted even better than it looked (according to Iz!).

The Boys

Mel and her boys came over to play and hang out today. I love how well they get along, even though Iz mostly has girl toys that they're uninterested in :) They plaed outside for a while and then hung out in the newly uber-pink room that Iz calls home.

Roo laying low :)

My girl :)

Too busy playing legos to bother looking up when I said "smile" :)

Thanks for coming over boys! As per usual, it was super fun!!!

Vacation...so far

So,no pictures yet :( I know, I know! I said I'd have my camera with me at all times and I have but haven't taken any pictures. I watched R's kids yesterday (4of 5) and was so busy that I didn't snap any pics. I'm supposed to watch them again tomorrow but her youngest girl has the pukes so we're staying away. Mel and her boys were supposed to come over today but are pushing their visit a day or 2 in case the pukes visit our house.

Plans change, but we'll adjust. Cleaning house today and maybe starting painting of the spare room or working more on painting in Iz's room. Hoping it will be totally done soon so I can share pictures - it's adorable!!!

Currently it's 9am and we're still in our jammies, curled up on the couch watching PBS :) As far as I'm concerned, it's a perfect vacation so far....even with no pictures!

School for me tonight and tomorrow but more fun in the near future!!!

V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N!

As of 3:40 this afternoon, Iz is on school vacation!!! Wahoo! Most parents groan about vacation but not me! I miss my girl all week while she's at school and now that I'm at school 3 nights a week I miss her even more!

We have all sorts of fun planned for vacation week and I will be SURE to have my camera with me at all times :)

Have a great weekend all!!!

Vacation....So Far

Ahhh, vacation. A time to kick back and relax, sip fruity drinks with umbrellas in them and not have a care in the world...

HA!

This is the 5th day of vacation (including teacher workshop day last Friday and the weekend) and we've been going NON-STOP for those five days.

Friday was the day I tackled my to-do list since I knew I wouldn't get another chance for a while. Lots of cleaning, laundry and errand-running.

Saturday I went Easter shopping with Mel (and annual tradition). I got home in time to fix a quick dinner, pick up a little, put Iz to bed and then Hubby and I had friends over for a few drinks and a LOT of laughs.

Sunday morning was Roo's Bday party at Chuck E. Cheese. It's an hour drive each way, plus stops for coffee and gas, and we were there about 3 hours. We got home about 3, Iz popped in a movie and I promptly fell asleep on the couch...

Yesterday was a playdate for Iz at a friends house in the afternoon so not exactly busy for me but I DID have to drop her off and pick her up :)

TODAY....we went to see Rio!!!

VERY cute movie..made Iz laugh out loud several times.

Honestly, I was laughing right alongside her!!!

Met Hubby afterwards so he could buy a new ladder and tie it to the top of my van and made it home just in time to put Iz to bed.

Whew! and it's only Day 5! The rest of the week includes coloring eggs with Auntie D and Mimi, a trip to the circus, playdate at another friend's house, dinner out for our anniversary (without Iz - we actually have a babysitter!!!), girls night out for me and then Easter Sunday.

My camera hasn't come out yet this vacation but that will change starting tomorrow :)

Hubby just e-mailed me the ones he took with HIS camera :)

Enjoy!

Beantown - Day 2 - The Aquarium

After more swimming Thursday night, dinner at Sonic and another AWESOME breakfast Friday morning, we packed up, checked out and headed to the aquarium.

VERY excited :)

Hubby drove us into the big city - claims it's as easy as driving to the corner store...
for HIM maybe!

Penguins

Checking out the cool fish

Tide pool - this was the best part, except the water was FREEZING!

Cuddling up to a baby penguin statue - too funny!

The girl LOVES to pose!

The massive sea turtle in the GIANT ocean tank!

Playing a game in the kid's room - matching babies to their mom's!

Fur Seals - ADORABLE :)

We headed out just in time to walk 3 blocks back to the van in the RAIN! Hubby got us safely out of the city and we headed home.

No complaints though - we had a GREAT time!!!

Beantown - Day 1 - Bus Tour

One of the things on my 34 things before I turn 34 list was to take a vacation with Hubby and Iz. Last week we took a couple days and went to Boston, using a hotel g.c. Hubby won at work...this will probably have to count as our "vacation" since I'm not seeing Disney or anything in our near future :)

We left right after school on Wednesday and headed south! We checked into the hotel, let Iz go for a swim, went out to dinner, went for a swim all together and then I decided to finally haul out my camera (bad blogger! bad!) and snap a shot of Iz snuggled in for the night :)

Thursday morning we got up bright and early, had an AWESOME breakfast courtesy of the hotel and then fought rush hour traffic for over an hour to go 10 miles to a different hotel to be picked up for a Boston Tour!

First stop - Bunker Hill Monument ...incidentally, did you know that the Battle of Bunker Hill was not actually fought ON Bunker Hill? It was fought on Breed's Hill but, obviously, someone mis-read the GPS and it has always been referred to as the Battle of Bunker Hill. Definitely has a better ring to it than the Battle of Breed's Hill anyway :)

Iz walking the "Freedom Trail."

The Monument

"Breed's Hill. Site of the Battle of Bunker Hill fought June 17, 1776"
Makes us sounds like a bunch of idiot's, huh? I wonder how many people have read this plaque and wondered "Why didn't they just call it the Battle of Breed's Hill?"

Iz watching the battle played out in the museum.

Next stop - USS Constitution aka Old Ironsides

Then it was a trek up a very STEEP hill to visit the Old North Church.

We had lunch at Quincy market and Iz got to "Build a Bear" (more on that later...)

After lunch another stop where the wind was blowing so hard that it actually blew Iz right off this turtle after I snapped this picture :)

Snuggling with her new bear :)

Last stop - Henry Wadsworth Longfellows house. we didn't tour the house but did get to walk through the gardens - VERY nice :)
The tour also drove us by MIT, Harvard, Fenway park and a million other things. We had a blast AND it didn't rain!

We were dropped off at the van around 4 and 5 minutes later I looked back and saw this:
Somebody was worn out...and Iz was tired too! LOL!
