The Blog Post(s) That Wasn't

I've been a MAJOR slacker lately.

My poor neglected blog. So many posts that will never be.

The post of Iz's field trip last week to the Children's Museum. *

The post of Iz and Mimi drawing in the mud during our walk today.

The post of pictures of girl's weekend with Mel.

These posts will never exist. Why? For whatever reason my camera has been forgotten every day. It sits in my bag. It sits in my van. It sits at home. Not really sure what's going on in my brain but I need to fix it!!!!

Here's to hoping that the next few days will bring more pictures and more BLOGGING!!!! :)

Playdate!

Last Thursday Iz and I met up with one of the ballet moms and her 2 littlest ones at a "local" play center.

Two cuties :)

Iz had a blast playing with Gwen and proclaimed on the way home that we MUST do it again SOON!

I agree!

Saturday Night

Somebody spent the night at our house :)

Little cutie pie! She's starting referring to herself as Mimi (well, really it's Me Me!) so that's what I'm going to call her from now on.....so sweet!

More Artwork

I snapped away at Iz's drawings the other night, knowing that it's unrealistic to think that I'll be able to save EVERY drawing, or school paper/project, or card for the rest of her life (though I WANT to!!!!). Ideally I would be scanning things and I probably will at some point but, for now, my snapshots will have to do.

This was a game Iz made for me to play. The top row is 3 magnifying glasses each showing the closeup of part of one of the bottom 3 pictures. I had to match them up :)

Part of this page is another game of Iz's. The left hand side says "I SPY" and then shows 3 things: a bird, a sparkle and a monster. The big box in the middle is where those 3 things are hidden.
The 2 boxes on the top right are "pictures" of the mouse she drew at the bottom (see the camera above the mouse?). The drawing in the circle on the bottom is a tea party, complete with "Chip" from "Beauty and the Beast."
The only explanation I got for this one was that it was questions and she had already answered them! LOL!
This is an older drawing....note to self: ask Iz what this is!!!
Lady bug
A "baby learning game" she made the day Ellie came over. Included are patterns and shapes and all sorts of things she explained to Ellie :)
Notice the 2 top rows of numbers Iz wrote...I'm thinking she might have a touch of dyslexia since she often writes in mirror image though it may just be the fact that she's only 5 and still learning. It's something we're keeping an eye on but not stressing about.
A little writing practice "I SPY SOMETHING THATS SOFT" and "I SPY A GREAT JOB"

Irish Proverb

(make sure you read this in your thickest brogue)

May those who love you always love you and those that don't, may God turn their heads. If He can't turn their heads may he turn their ankles so you can recognize them by their limp.*

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!

*Heard this the other day and it made me giggle so I had to share it!

Artwork....and a Funny

Iz has become quite the artist lately....she's constantly drawing and refuses to leave the house without a notebook and pencils. She's pretty good (if I must say so myself), but what I love the most is hearing the stories behind her art.

Tonight I heard her tell Hubby this:

"See this picture I drew of Belle, Daddy? It's a close up."

"And see this one? Belle's in this one too but she's tiny cause it's a far up."

Love her :)

As you may remember, I mentioned (HERE) that Iz and I made some cookies recently.

Picking out the perfect shapes.

Cutting out little ones first.

DAY TWO
Time to decorate!

First time using a piping bag....she did great!

Gorgeous girl!

Done!

Flashback Friday: A Young IzzyBsMama

This is me and Lassie (such an original name for a collie, don't ya think?). I was about 5-ish. I dug this picture out the other day and was struck by how much Iz looks like I did at her age. I mean, seriously, if I didn't KNOW this was me I would think it was her!!!

Poor Iz...hope she grows out of it!!! :)

Signed Up

I signed Iz up for T-ball last night :)

Looking forward to making new friends, enjoying the outside and seeing my *baby* do this:

And I definitely need to capture a picture as great as this one:

The best part about tball sign-up??? It's a sure sign of S-P-R-I-N-G!!!!

Well Excuuuuuuuuuse Me!

I let Iz decorate sugar cookies by herself tonight while I made dinner. Set her up with a couple of piping bags with frosting, sprinkles, gel frosting and jellybeans and told her to have at it.

After dinner she presented Hubby and I with the cookies that she had decorated especially for us. Hubby's was a simple blue heart with pink polka dots and on each polka dot was a jelly bean (4 0r 5 total on the cookie). Mine was a white heart outlined with jellybeans (a LOT - maybe 15 or so?). Iz's cookie was a plain pink heart - no sprinkles, no jellybeans...just plenty of pale pink frosting.

We gushed over them, thanked her and dug in.

Well, after a bite of mine I realized that, as good as jellybeans are they don't belong on a cookie...so I picked them off and told Isabella that I would eat them separately because I wasn't a fan of them ON my cookie.

Her response?

"Listen, that cookie was MY design and I don't want to hear ANY complaints!"

48 Hours

In the last 48 hours...

-Iz's gag reflex kicked in and she puked all over her bed...then she came into our room and did the same thing!

-My van died on the way to the laundromat to dry all the bedding.

-Hubby was home with Iz....and her booster seat was in my VAN!

-Hubby "fixed" the van enough to get me to the laundromat and home.

-Stopped 3 times in the 12 mile ride home from the laundromat to wait for my van to cool & add more water.

-It rained ALL DAY yesterday. While putting water in the van a passer by hit a HUGE puddle on my side of the road....saoking my ENTIRE right side. *sigh*

-Woke up this morning to a flooded basement - knew it would happen because of the terrible design of our bulkhead but....still stinks!

-And, oh yeah, Iz and I made sugar cookies....maybe today we'll get the chance to decorate them!

Happy Monday Y'all!!!! :)

Extension

There was no school the Friday before vacation (not sure why....the whim of the preschool teacher I guess) and then, to top it off, the Monday we were supposed to go back to school was ANOTHER SNOW DAY!

So we hung out at home and Iz tapped into her inner artist with a little painting* :)

*more on her artwork when I get motivated a scan pictures she's been working on lately!

Wow!

Iz has mastered doing a bridge BY HERSELF at ballet :)

Takes a lot of strength and balance to get all the way up into a perfect arch....she ahs been working VERY hard at this for months!!!!
