Busy

Sheesh! I feel like I've really been neglecting my blog lately...

I haven't been taking a lot of pictures and, honestly, not a whole lot has been going on around here.

At the same time, I'm just so BUSY! Monday, Wednesday & Friday Iz has school, Wednesday afternoon are our Auntie D/Ellie day, Tuesday mornings is ballet PLUS I have Jimmy before/after school at least two days a week....whew! It's taken me these six weeks of school to find a routine and get into a groove and I think I've got it figured out so here's to more picture taking and more blogging in the future :)

Happy Monday ALL!!!

Workin' for a Livin'

Auntie D asked me to help her out at work today...bagging pine needles at a local golf course. FUN! (not really...but the company's good!). We dragged Iz along with us and she did FANTASTIC helping us out and playing on the little bridge at the course and in their little gazebo! 5 hours and about 80 garbage bags full of needles and I'm pretty confident that I won't be able to move tomorrow!

Iz made me take this picture :) and I was happy to oblige - Cutie!

What's So Interesting?

I didn't pay a whole lot of attention to what Iz picked for books at the library yesterday. So, when I looked over while making dinner after asking her a question and receiving no answer, I wondered what book had her so enthralled.

It was a good 10 minutes before I could walk away from the stove and check out what was going on. Imagine my surprise when i saw what she was "reading"...

Not only did she look at this book for at least 30 minutes but then she had me read 20 pages about our digestive system to her while dinner finished cooking. Then Hubby read more to her after we ate.

What on earth are they going to do with her in school???

Beantown - Day 2 - The Aquarium

After more swimming Thursday night, dinner at Sonic and another AWESOME breakfast Friday morning, we packed up, checked out and headed to the aquarium.

VERY excited :)

Hubby drove us into the big city - claims it's as easy as driving to the corner store...
for HIM maybe!

Penguins

Checking out the cool fish

Tide pool - this was the best part, except the water was FREEZING!

Cuddling up to a baby penguin statue - too funny!

The girl LOVES to pose!

The massive sea turtle in the GIANT ocean tank!

Playing a game in the kid's room - matching babies to their mom's!

Fur Seals - ADORABLE :)

We headed out just in time to walk 3 blocks back to the van in the RAIN! Hubby got us safely out of the city and we headed home.

No complaints though - we had a GREAT time!!!

Beantown - Day 1 - Bus Tour

One of the things on my 34 things before I turn 34 list was to take a vacation with Hubby and Iz. Last week we took a couple days and went to Boston, using a hotel g.c. Hubby won at work...this will probably have to count as our "vacation" since I'm not seeing Disney or anything in our near future :)

We left right after school on Wednesday and headed south! We checked into the hotel, let Iz go for a swim, went out to dinner, went for a swim all together and then I decided to finally haul out my camera (bad blogger! bad!) and snap a shot of Iz snuggled in for the night :)

Thursday morning we got up bright and early, had an AWESOME breakfast courtesy of the hotel and then fought rush hour traffic for over an hour to go 10 miles to a different hotel to be picked up for a Boston Tour!

First stop - Bunker Hill Monument ...incidentally, did you know that the Battle of Bunker Hill was not actually fought ON Bunker Hill? It was fought on Breed's Hill but, obviously, someone mis-read the GPS and it has always been referred to as the Battle of Bunker Hill. Definitely has a better ring to it than the Battle of Breed's Hill anyway :)

Iz walking the "Freedom Trail."

The Monument

"Breed's Hill. Site of the Battle of Bunker Hill fought June 17, 1776"
Makes us sounds like a bunch of idiot's, huh? I wonder how many people have read this plaque and wondered "Why didn't they just call it the Battle of Breed's Hill?"

Iz watching the battle played out in the museum.

Next stop - USS Constitution aka Old Ironsides

Then it was a trek up a very STEEP hill to visit the Old North Church.

We had lunch at Quincy market and Iz got to "Build a Bear" (more on that later...)

After lunch another stop where the wind was blowing so hard that it actually blew Iz right off this turtle after I snapped this picture :)

Snuggling with her new bear :)

Last stop - Henry Wadsworth Longfellows house. we didn't tour the house but did get to walk through the gardens - VERY nice :)
The tour also drove us by MIT, Harvard, Fenway park and a million other things. We had a blast AND it didn't rain!

We were dropped off at the van around 4 and 5 minutes later I looked back and saw this:
Somebody was worn out...and Iz was tired too! LOL!
