Bowling

Catching Up: Recital!

Because a tee ball game and closing program weren't enough for Father's Day weekend, Saturday night was Iz's RECITAL!!!!

My pictures didn't come out that great Saturday night...

Post-recital pose with ALL her flowers!

Luckily I had Sunday night to try and redeem myself photo-wise...

Sunday night was Recital: Round 2...and Iz started off being a little crazy.

I remembered to actually take a picture of Iz IN her costume the 2nd time around!

I was also able to sneak up to the front row Sunday night to get some better action shots!!!

Recital was, well....looooooooong but Iz was great up on stage and she loves it so it was all worth it in the end. By Monday morning we were both exhausted and spent the beginning of the week recuperating. The middle/end of the week ended up being pretty exciting. Come back TOMORROW to find out why :)

Catching Up: Tee Ball Closing Program

If you, by chance, are wondering why I didn't post anything last week here's why - I was in recovery from the CRAZY Father's Day weekend we had. The craziness had nothing to do with Father's Day and everything to do with a certain 5-year-old who lives in the house and pretty much rules the roost.

Saturday morning started off with her last tee ball game and then the closing program for tee ball.

Waiting patiently.

Getting her trophy from Coach.

Proud girl.

Posing with her buddy.

We got home around 1:30 and took a few minutes to rest up while we could.

Check back tomorrow to see what we did Saturday NIGHT :)

Summer Fun has Begun!

Believe it or not we've already been able to check one thing off our Summer Fun List :)
(I know you're impressed!)

This morning we met up with Mel & her boys to go....

Of course, the perfect end to a day that begins with strawberry picking is . . .

STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE!

YUM!

I also had a picture of Hubby chowing down on shortcake but when I uploaded it to my computer I noticed that the clothesrack was behind him and it was very clearly MY underwear hanging on it. So, that picture when staright to the recycle bin. I like to keep things honest on the ole blog but I draw the line at a posting pictures of my drawers...

This will be our first year make an official list of things we want to do during the summer and, as you can see, Iz is VERY exciting to start checking things off.

A Nice Day!

Yesterday was our last Wednesday at Auntie D's until July. L has a couple weeks off before summer school starts and Auntie D wants to work those Wednesdays to save up for the weeks before the wedding when she's sure she'll want some extra time off :) We were lucky enough to have PERFECT weather...not too hot, not too cold, not rainy, just a little breezy and we packed in as much fun as we could to take advantage of it.

We started off the morning with a fort in the middle of the living room :)
(not Mimi's best picture but, oh well)

Followed with time in the sprinkler...

...then we walked up to the park to play at the playground.

Then it was back to Auntie D's to munch on some chives.

After playing some more the girls had popsicles. When they were done I told Mimi to go wash her sticky hands off in the pool. While she was doing that I (jokingly) said "Wash your face too" and this is what happened....

....then, of course, they had to dry off :)

Those silly girls!!!

I did warn L that I would probably have Mimi withdrawels over the next couple weeks so expect a call for a visit. L informed me that she has a huge honey-do list from S to accomplish during her time off so Im' sure she would appreciate an extra set of hands. If not, well...we'll still visit anyway :)

Random

Preschool ended last month and Iz and I have been busy busy busy ever since with tee ball and ballet but that all ends this weekend. Our last tee ball game is Saturday morning and recital is Saturday night.

In anticipation of our new found freedom come Monday morning we have been working on a summer fun list. It includes things like camping, a trip to the ocean and ice cream at the ice cream shop I loved as a child. It's still a work in progress but check in Monday for the (hopefully) completed list.

The flower girls dresses are in for SnL's wedding....here's a sneak peak :)

And, just to keep teasing....recital costume....

Finally, I'm listening to the second book in The Hunger Games trilogy (if you haven't read this series yet....do it! So good!) and I love how listening to books gives me a whole new perspective on the characters and plot. It happened when I listened to Harry Potter, it happened when I listened to Twilight and now it's happening with The Hunger Games. In the car Iz and I are listening to the Little House on the Prairie books which she LOVES and I'm enjoying hearing again - it's been so long since I've read them.

Audio books....awesome!!! FREE audio books from the library? Even more AWESOME!!! :)

Happy Tuesday all!

Graduate

I don't know how all these kids in our family are getting so old and doing things like driving and getting jobs and stuff but it just happens. I blink and *poof* they're BIG!

It happened again last Thursday when WW's oldest graduated from high school...

Seriously, these kids need to stop making me feel so old!

CONGRATS B!!!
AWESOME JOB!!!

Wordless Wednesday: Has Anyone Seen the Cat?

Tuesday, June 7, 2011

Grati-Tuesday :)

1) Hubby brought me home steamers and chowdah from his work dinner last night - YUM! I'm so grateful that he does little things every day to show me he loves me.

2) My preschool mom buddy R watched Iz for me while I went to the doctor's yesterday morning. I'm so grateful to have people in my life that I can trust with my little girl.

3) Our summer is shaping up to be super busy with, at this point, only 3 free weekends. I'm so grateful that so many people love us and include us in the important events in their lives.

4) My sunburn has faded into quite a nice tan. I'm grateful that the sun has been shining!!!!

5) Iz has ballet this morning. I'm grateful there's a DD on the way :)

6) My nephew graduates from h.s. on Thursday night. I'm grateful that Hubby's job is flexible enough so that he can take Iz to t-ball while I go to graduation.

7) Mel and I talked yesterday about our families camping together next month. I'm SO grateful to have a friend that I know I can tolerate for 3 days straight!

8) Iz had step-up day for Kindergarten last Friday. The principal, nurse, teachers and everyone I've met at the school seem amazing. I'm grateful for teachers that care.

9) I'm making the flower girl baskets for SnL's wedding. I'm grateful that I learned this simple skill so long ago that now allows me to be a part of their BIG day :)

10) Mimi fell down the stairs at Auntie D's house last week. I'm SO SO SO grateful that it ended up just being a fat lip.
