Maple Sunday
Yesterday was Maple Sunday! One of my favorite days of the year :)
I don't have a lot pf pictures because the wind was whipping and it was FREEZING, but here are a few....it was pretty much the same as last year....just less mud :)
Iz entered a contest to name this baby calf....she picked "Moo-Belle" which took her 2 whole days to come up with and, I think, should be the winning name....we'll see :)

Get Ov Here and Play Scrabble with Us!
Now, I am fully aware that this will not be nearly as funny for anyone else as it was for Auntie D and I late Monday night....but I had to share it anyway.
After a pretty uneventful game of Scrabble I was left with ONE letter.... "V".
Now, I don't know about you, but I can't think of any 2 letter words that begin or end with V.
So, Auntie D, being very gracious, let me use this as my final word...
That's right... OV....
*One other thing...when I spell-checked this post Blogger did not recognize OV as a word and suggested that maybe I was trying to spell IV, ORV, OVA, OB or just plain "O" Sheesh! What does Blogger know anyway? It also accused me of misspelling "rivah" "Dunkin" "lobstah" and "ayuh" Seriously.....

Well, we were in hysterics over this and spent quite a while comping up with ridiculous ways to use the word "OV" in a sentence for me to give as examples when I wrote this post. However, that was days ago and I don't even remember what I had for breakfast this morning. Here are a few that stuck with me though.....
Where's Jimmy? Oh, he's OV by the rivah!
Wanna go OV to the Dunkin Donuts and get an Iced Coffee?
Where's Auntie D? Oh, she's OV at the Shop n Save gettin' some lobstah....ayuh!

UPTA Camp - March '10
It's been a couple months and the weather forecast was calling for rain so we thought, "What the heck! Let's go Upta Camp!"
We played some Princess Bingo...
And, naturally, I have another Scrabble story....but that will have to wait for another day :)
We played some Princess Bingo...
(notice there are iced coffees present? With Auntie D and me there are ALWAYS iced coffees....even in winter....even when it's raining :) )
Even Kiko joined in for B-I-N-G-O
Then she had to go hide in the shower for a while since Callie was bullying her....not nice!
The second day Iz went out to play....rain or no rain.....she NEEDED to get out some energy!
I braved the rain (and the chance of melting...) to blow some bubbles for the girls - Callie goes absolutely NUTS when there are bubble around!
The day we left for home the sun decided to show itself (of course!) so I grabbed a few shots of the river....the water was SO high! Higher than I've ever seen it, for sure.
Another fun couple days Upta Camp. Hoping to get up there again sometime this spring when the weather will actually be nice...I'm pretty sure it rains EVERY time we go!
And, naturally, I have another Scrabble story....but that will have to wait for another day :)

I'm *Almost* Ready
What a GREAT weekend!
The weather was SO nice here on Saturday.....close to 70 degrees and we spent the entire day outside! Hubby worked on splitting wood, I raked and Iz played with Callie :) The perfect day was topped off with grilled chicken for dinner and a Handy Manny special on TV :)
Yesterday, Mel and I snuck out, sans kids, to do our Easter shopping. We kept each other in check....both of us tend to go overboard when it comes to shopping for our kiddos....and got pretty much everything that we need :) It's nice not to have to worry about it this week since we'll be "Upta Camp" for the next few days!!! I'll need to figure our what I'm making food-wise for Easter but, other than that, I'm ready - YIPPEE!
There was only one thing missing yesterday.....we couldn't find any of THESE anywhere (Mel's Hubby loves them as much as I do!)....seriously? Now, I'm on the hunt and I WILL get my fix! :)

Oh, The Weather
We've been spoiled. Truly and thoroughly spoiled with the weather these last few days. Here it is the middle of March and temps Tuesday, Wednesday and today have been in the high 50s/low 60s.
Seriously :)
It's been GREAT! We've gone for a few walks this week. Iz went for another bike ride while we were at Auntie D's yesterday and I actually got some raking done while we were outside today.
So, now I'm waiting.
Waiting for the big March snowstorm...or the April one....or the Mother's day Blizzard of 2010.
Because, Winter just can't go away this easy.
Can it?

Obsessions....Let's Review
Almost six months ago I listed the things I was currently obsessed with. I thought it would be fun to look back and see if those obsessions lasted :) AND to list my new ones!!!
1. Glee ~ Absolutely still obsessed and anxiously looking forward to it's return in a couple weeks...especially since Idina Menzel (the original Broadway Elphaba) will be on the show as the coach of Vocal Adrenaline...this is a TV series I might have to break down and buy when it comes out on DVD :)
2. The Middle ~ nope - a short-lived obsession. The show is good, don't get me wrong but I always seem to miss it.
3. Woman with Kids ~ Yes. Yes. Annnnd Yes!
4. Ellie ~ more obsessed than ever. She's changing so much every time I see her that I just can't get enough of this little cutie pie!
5. IzzyB ~ ALWAYS!
6. Grey's Anatomy ~ Yes. Loving the fact that McDreamy is the chief and the chief is back to doing surgery and trying to fix his love. Love that Bailey's getting hot and steamy with Dr. Ben (hubba!). Pretty much the only thing I'm not loving is the lack of George and Izzie :(
7. Private Practice ~ Yes. Loved the end of last week's episode and can't wait to see how Addison and Naomi fix their friendship.
8. The Biggest Loser ~ OMG YES.
9. Survivor ~ This season I'm loving it! Heroes v Villians! Colby (yum!), Boston Rob, James AND Russell all together....heaven :)
10. Amalah ~ Yes. In fact, she posted something a couple weeks ago that I wanted to blog about. (Mental Note....go find that post!)
11. My Yahoo Knitting Group ~ Nope - this is a holiday thing and, now that the holidays are over, it's been pushed to the back burner.
12. The forgotten ~ This is one of few shows that Hubby watches with me and we are still into it. LOVE Christian Slater :)
13. Flash Forward ~ Two-Hour return episode tonight...Can't WAIT!
14. 100 days of Holidays ~ See #11
15. Patriots ~ Not so much right now ... GO RED SOX!
16. DD Iced Coffee ~ Had two today.....does that make things clear? :)
17. Knitpicks ~ I've been behaving myself and haven't ordered in a while. Hmmmm....I think it's time though. I want to knit Ellie a lightweight sweater for Spring/Summer.
So, I started with 11 and 4 have gone by the wayside leaving 7.
New obsessions:
1. Modern Family ~ If you haven't seen this show you MUST watch it NOW. No, go....go to tvguide and watch the pilot episode and then go to hulu and watch every episode available. Hysterical! Seriously. Cameron and Phila re the two funniest characters on tv right now.
2. The AMAZING Recovery of my friend, Laurie.
Hmmmmm. I think that's it. WOW! I'm down to just 9 obsessions. Pretty good, if I must say so myself. I might actually have some free time soon :)

Princess...and a Couple Princes :)
Sunday afternoon we had company in the form of Hubby's sister, her husband and their two boys. We chatted, snacked and did a LOT of laughing.
The boys even humored Iz and played Princess Yahtzee! Yes, that's right - two teenage boys played a girly princess game with their 4-year-old cousin! So sweet!
What an adorable trio :)

Amazed
Yesterday afternoon a FB Page was set up for people Praying for Laurie....it currently has 1300 fans!!!
Yesterday morning the docs thought Laurie wouldn't even survive. Today she is breathing on her own, sitting up, she recognized and spoke to her sister and has talked to her husband.
Seriously. I am amazed :)

Praying for a Miracle
I know I don't usually post on the weekend but, after checking out the blogs that I read this morning, I HAD to.
I read on CM's blog that Laurie is in the hospital after suffering a brain aneurysm yesterday while home with her three small children. I have known Laurie for years and years and years and she is one of the kindest, gentlest, most GOOD people I have ever met. Doctors are not hopeful for her survival :(
This hits so close to home since, a couple years before I was born, my mother (Nannie) suffered the same thing....she was not expected to survive either.
Praying for a miracle for Laurie and her entire family...

Bike Rides, Nice Weather and LOTS of Cuteness!
After story time at the Library yesterday we made our way to Auntie D's and went for our first bike ride of the year!!! SO fun!
The weather has been so nice this week...we are being spoiled :) In the back of my mind, I keep remembering that we could VERY easily get hit with more snow but I'm trying to push that thought away and enjoy the nice weather while we have it.
Look who else we got to hang out with!!! (Notice Iz's BLUE nails...she really IS a teenager on the inside!)
Look who can sit up ALL BY HERSELF!
So much fun enjoying the weather with the girls, spending some Q-Time with Ellie and, of course, getting our "Auntie D fix" for the week :)

Who knew?
A while back someone gave us a DVD of Kid Concoctions. Iz LOVES this DVD. She wants to watch it ALL.THE.TIME. Naturally, she wants to make every concoction and contraption they make though she's a little too young for most. Yesterday we made two of the things she's been asking to make for MONTHS ~ Slime...and, for lack of a better name, Corn Starch Slime.
Slime Ingredients:
White School Glue, Borax, Water, Food Coloring
Corn Starch Slime Ingredients:
Corn Starch, Food Coloring, Water
Five Household Ingredients.....HOURS of ENTERTAINMENT!
No kidding! Iz played with these two bowls of "stuff" for close to FOUR hours yesterday (with breaks, of course). There was hardly a mess...both clean up super-easy and are reusable.
Amazing! I was able to clean both bathrooms with ZERO interruptions. It's a miracle :)

Sooooooo Exciting!
Waiting at Nannie and Papa's yesterday...
Still waiting...
STILL waiting!!!!
Waiting for what, you ask?
Not just one or two buses, either...no sir. EVERY school bus in the district drives by Nannie and Papa's house every afternoon. The weather was nice again so we watched them ALL go by!
Iz stood and waved and waved and waved!!! Some drivers waved back. Some drivers didn't see her (or maybe ignored her...not nice!). But the cool drivers? The COOL drivers HONKED THEIR HORNS!!!! WW was one of those cool drivers :)

GORGEOUS!
What an AMAZING weekend!
Friday night Hubby and I went to dinner. We went out for Chinese...YUM! The service, however, was TERRIBLE (it's a side effect of going anywhere with Hubby - he attracts bad service like a light attracts moths!) but the food was good and we split a Scorpion Bowl which makes everything better!!! The night was topped off with a little ice cream, a little wine and a good, LONG soak in the hot tub.
Mel brought Iz back Saturday morning and we left Mel's boys AND Iz home with Hubby to get a little grocery shopping done. The best part? It was 50 degrees out and I wore my FLIP FLOPS for the first time this year! Ahhhhhh....so nice!
Both Saturday and Sunday were gorgeous. We took long walks both days and tried to enjoy as much of the nice weather as we could while keeping our distance from the mud :)
This week is shaping up to be another busy one. I REALLY need to dig out the camera...it's been too long!!!

ANOTHER One of THOSE Weeks
It seems like every couple months I go through a week where I have nothing to blog about. This was that week. I didn't take any pictures this week. We didn't really go anywhere new and exciting and the weather has been mild and uneventful.
But....tonight? Tonight, Iz is sleeping over at Mel's house and Hubby and I are going out to dinner....ALONE....by ourselves...Yippee!
Back on Monday, ya'll :)

The Aftermath
Friday I brought Hubby to get the rest of the items out of his work vehicle and to pick up a rental.
At first it didn't look too bad.
Still not too bad.
Oh, there it is.
What a mess!
I'm thinking 99% of the damage was done underneath the car. We're waiting for the estimate to be finished. Totalled????? Maybe. We'll see :)
