Gardening 103 :)

When I started gardening back in May I really did not think much would come of it. Then a month later in June when a little life was showing in my garden I got a little excited. Then it rained for WEEKS and I figured it was all a goner....but nooooooo :) Things are thriving in my garden and I couldn't be more proud!!!

All my transplanted cukes bit the dust so I dug 'em up and replanted about 2 weeks ago...

the new ones are looking GREAT!

I've also managed to keep the eggplant & jalapeno seedlings alive :)

AND they've actually grown!

On a sad note...the 4 solid weeks of rain completely ruined ALL of our strawberries :(

Now...if the veggies would hurry up and grow so we could EAT them....then my garden would REALLY be wonderful!

Old Home Days!

What a great (and BUSY!) weekend we had! Friday morning Iz & I both got hair cuts and then went down to Nannie & Papa's on Friday afternoon to get together with Aunt J to do a yard sale and try to get rid of some stuff!

Then Saturday morning the 3 of us headed to "town" for Old Home Days.
.
I took 55 pictures on Saturday...yes! ME! the world's worst blogger took that many pictures in ONE DAY!!! And, now, you get to look at a BUNCH of them :) Lucky!!!

After the parade we went back to Aunt J's to finish up the yard sale then we ALL loaded up in the van to head back to Old Home Days....but first a quick stop at DD's :)

Whew! A very busy day but we had a BLAST! Needless to say, yesterday was spent at home doing yard work AND relaxing. The S-U-N is out again today and we are headed back out to enjoy it now that lunch is taken care of!!!

The Fair

Vacation Recap :)

Whew! It was a great one....busy, but FUN!

Things definitely got better on Saturday...J came to visit :) and this is about as far as Iz got away from him the whole time....that girl LOVES her big brother!!!

The weather held off long enough to BBQ Saturday night...Hubby likes his burgers RAW :)

The only one in the house who doesn't turn away or run when I drag out the camera!

Then Monday....WOW! The S-U-N came out! Sooooooo...we went swimming!!!

It was back to work for Hubby today but that didn't stop Iz & I from having some more fun. We went to see Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs which was GREAT! Very funny - both Iz and I laughed out loud several times! I highly recommend it...although I would be cautious if you have younger kids as a couple of the dinosaur scenes could be frightening....Iz is pretty hardcore and wasn't scared at all :)

.

The rest of the week is going to be busy. Tomorrow is story time at the library, Thursday (or Friday) we're meeting Mel & the boys at the fair and Saturday is the parade/fireworks at "Old Home Days"... I'll be snapping pictures as often as I can :)

VACATION!

I'll be MIA for a while..Hubby is using some vacation time this week and taking today, tomorrow & Monday off plus he has Friday off for the holiday. We're planning on taking Iz to see a movie, J is coming down Saturday for the night and we're hoping L&R make it down for a visit as well. Plus, we're going to try and go see some FIREWORKS! Here's to hoping I have my act together and have lots of pictures to post next time...hey! it could happen!
