Wedding Slideshow

Mel and I joke all the time that Iz and Roo will probably end up getting married someday...and wouldn't that be great since the in-laws would all get along so well?!?

Yesterday at the pond while snapping pictures and laughing about the future wedding we determined that we'll be able to put together the BEST slideshow of the "happy couple" growing up together!

Ellie - 10 months

Iz and I spent yesterday the same way we spend every Wednesday....hanging out with Ellie at Auntie D's house. I feel so lucky that I get to see Ellie every week since she is at that age that she changes so much even in the short time I don't see her. Today, she's 10 months old! Where did the time go? Seriously?!?

Annual Cookout at the In-Laws

Another great year....fantastic people, yummy food and beautiful weather.

We definitely missed a couple "Js" who had to work (boo!) but there were a couple "newbies" there who brightened up every body's day!

H&I were there with their little guy S who LOVED Kiko! Why was Kiko there, you ask? Because Auntie D and her crew crashed the party, of course! Well...they WERE invited so it was okay :)

We had to get the sprinkler out to cool off. Iz is holding hands with little R who was only 3 weeks old at last year's get-together.

Today's a busy one at home. The house is WRECKED from a busy weekend, the laundry has piled up and I? I have about 20 lobstah bodies and 4 WHOLE lobstahs to pick :) It's a rough life, but I manage!

Flashback Friday - January '09

"Flashback Friday" is something I've been toying with the idea of doing for a while. I'll warn you right now that I won't have something EVERY Friday and there's no way I'm organized enough to do things in chronological order but I thought it would be fun to take a look back every once in a while.

So, Hubby made Iz a "rocket ship" out of some cardboard boxes last night and she's been playing with it all day today. A little while ago, she flipped it upside-down and climbed in so she was looking out through the door. ..this is the conversation that followed:

Iz: Daddy, I want ice cream.
Hubby: You ate the rest of the ice cream last night, remember?
Iz: no, Daddy just pretend.
Hubby: Oh, you want to pretend to eat ice cream, ok here's some ice cream.
Iz: No Daddy!
Hubby: I thought you wanted ice cream?
Iz: no you!
Hubby: but I tried to give you ice cream
Iz: no, I give you ice cream!
Hubby: Ohhhh, are you working the ice cream window?
Iz: yes!
Hubby: Oh, wonderful, can I have some ice cream please
Iz (deadpan): I'm sorry, but I don't have any ice cream.

Saturday afternoon Mel and her boys (including her Hubby) cam over to hang out and BBQ...I have a couple pictures from that too, but need to get them off my camera!

Yesterday was a perfect day of relaxation at home (with the exception of a quick trip to the grocery store) which is needed because this week? It's going to be a busy one...and a busy weekend coming up...it's time for the L Family Cookout :)

The Beach

Yesterday we met SK & DK and their kiddos, plus Lis & C at the beach :) Little did I know that no one checked the tide table...we arrived to find practically no *actual* beach and the water was getting higher. But, we made the most of it anyway....the water was NICE (which is surprising, since this time of year the ocean is usually still FREEZING!) and we spent most of our time jumping waves :)

Thanks to SK for the pics (which I stole from FB) - I left everything, including my camera, in the van because there was nowhere to put it where it wouldn't get WET.

Vacation

You've seen the pictures....this is what we did:

Honestly? A whole lot of nothing :)

.

It was SO hot and SO humid all week that we spent a lot of time at home in front of the fan....but, when we weren't home we went swimming at the local pond a few times, went to the ocean, went to a Rick Charette concert, Iz and I had our typical Wednesday with Auntie D & Ellie, Iz spent Thursday out and about with Hubby which meant I had the day off ALONE AT HOME!, went out for ice cream (twice!), watched a parade, and I went to see Eclipse with Mel :)

.

A great vacation! Hubby has two more to take this year - can't WAIT for the next one!!!

What a Week!

Hubby's vacation has been exhausting! But SO.MUCH.FUN!!!

Pictures coming on Monday, but for now, Iz and I are headed to a parade....just like last year :)

Tragedy

Three of four crew members who were aboard a Coast Guard helicopter that crashed Wednesday morning near Seattle are dead.

The chopper crashed near James Island, off the Washington coast. The announcement was made by a Seattle Coast Guard spokesman from District 13 at an afternoon news conference. With wavering voice he said they are currently in the recovery phase and once completed, the aircraft will be salvaged from the water.*

One of the victims was a classmate of mine in high school...a wonderful man. A husband, father to three and a great friend. Very sad news indeed...
