Coming Soon . . .

18 more days until THIS movie comes out!

SO excited! If you haven't read the books, you MUST! Get them from the library, the store, for you kindle, whatever! Just READ THEM! Disturbing but oh so good!

Mel and I are already planning a date to go see it - and if it's even HALF as good as the book I'll be happy :)

Random

Preschool ended last month and Iz and I have been busy busy busy ever since with tee ball and ballet but that all ends this weekend. Our last tee ball game is Saturday morning and recital is Saturday night.

In anticipation of our new found freedom come Monday morning we have been working on a summer fun list. It includes things like camping, a trip to the ocean and ice cream at the ice cream shop I loved as a child. It's still a work in progress but check in Monday for the (hopefully) completed list.

The flower girls dresses are in for SnL's wedding....here's a sneak peak :)

And, just to keep teasing....recital costume....

Finally, I'm listening to the second book in The Hunger Games trilogy (if you haven't read this series yet....do it! So good!) and I love how listening to books gives me a whole new perspective on the characters and plot. It happened when I listened to Harry Potter, it happened when I listened to Twilight and now it's happening with The Hunger Games. In the car Iz and I are listening to the Little House on the Prairie books which she LOVES and I'm enjoying hearing again - it's been so long since I've read them.

Audio books....awesome!!! FREE audio books from the library? Even more AWESOME!!! :)

Happy Tuesday all!

Guess What We've Been Reading?

We read to Iz A LOT. We read her anything and EVERYTHING we can get our hands on. Short books. Chapter books. Little kid books. Big kid books. Even book on topics you would never think a 4-year-old would be interested in (see HERE).

Lately though, we've been on a bit of a kick when it comes to book selection.

Can YOU tell what we've been reading?

How about now?

Absolutely adorable books. Check 'em out!

No Such Thing as a Witch

One of the things about cleaning at my parents' house is that I always bring a ton of stuff home with me. It's like a free yard sale :) If I show the least bit of interest in something, my mother tells me to take it home. This also applies to whenever Iz shows interest in something...which means A LOT of stuff has come home with us and is still sitting in a box because Iz has too much stuff as it is.
.
One of the things I brought home recently was a book by Ruth Chew called No Such Thing as a Witch
.
.
It's a children's book that I read several times when I was younger and HAD to bring home to read it again. It's about a couple kids, their silly next door neighbor and her magic fudge.
.
.
There are cute little illustrations, done by the author, scattered throughout the book.
.
.
I Googled Ruth Chew to see if she had any other books and, although I couldn't find an "official" website of any sort, I did find this one. I was surprised to see the long list of books written by Chew and am now on the "hunt" for them. There is a used book store very close to where I grocery shop and I'll be swinging in soon to see if they have any. No Such Thing as a Witch is a cute, easy read with silly magic and lots of fun...I would love for Iz to be able to enjoy it when she is older and, honestly, I'll be reading it again soon myself :)
