Birthday Party....take 2 :)
Iz's birthday was back in January but we waited for nicer weather and less of a risk of being snowed in before throwing a little party for her friends. They all came over yesterday (no joke!) to play and be silly girls and have cake and ice cream. Iz REALLY wanted a Barbie cake and I was happy to oblige :)

It was a perfect afternoon. The weather was mild enough for the girls to get outside and play for a while and there was hardly any bickering or disagreements. All in all....SUCCESS :)

It Happened Again!
It seems like. since Iz started school last Fall I haven't really been as committed to the ole blog as I used to be - part of the reason is because I feel like I barely see my girl, part is that I don't take nearly as many pics as I used to and I know that's all anyone wants to see anyway and part is because things have been pretty darn boring around the L house for the past couple months.
But here's a little catch-up for you....
My CNA class is going well. It's taking a lot more of my time than I had bargained for (studying for the test we take EVERY class!) so that's affected the blog. Plus, that's 3 nights a week that I'm not home with my 2 favorite people and I know you don't want me to recap the stuff I'm learning...some is interesting, some is gross. but most of it is just plain BORING.
Iz was home sick for an entire week from the 12th to 16th so that was rough for everyone. I've never seen her so sick before but she went back to school Monday and made it through the week...though now Hubby has it and he's been struggling through work for days but is spending the weekend crashed on the couch - poor thing :( Not to sound heartless but I'm hoping *fingers crossed* that I don't get it.
Tomorrow is Maple Sunday and we're keeping it low key this year - just going down the street to our "local" sugar shack for some syrup and ice cream.
Then Monday the Book Fair starts. I'm the chairperson so I'll be pretty much living at school for the week. Craziness, I tell ya!

HAPPY 20th BIRTHDAY

Birthday Party
We had the family over (minus Auntie D's gang - they weer sick) to celebrate Iz's bday a couple weekends ago. There was lots of laughs, yummy food, even yummier CAKES and tons of fun with family. Though, I have to admit, it just wasn't the same without Auntie D :)

6 Years
Dear IzzyB,
6 years old.
Unbelievable.
The past year has just flown by but it was sure a fun one :) Between preschool and dance we kept busy through the winter and spring and then we started the summer off by making a fun list which kept us busy until school started.
School. You're doing so well. Mrs. C couldn't come up with anything negative to say about you at the parent-teacher conference in November. You love school. You get upset when there's a snow day or you have to leave early/arrive late because of an appointment. Once we thought there would be a snow day and when you found out there WAS going to be school you yelled out "HURRAY!" I want your love of learning to never fade.
I've noticed that since you started school there's been a lot less blog entries and pictures. Part of the reason is because we just don't spend as much time together as we used to. You spend more time at school than you do with me :( That's been a bigger adjustment for me than I ever imagined. It's nice to be able to run errands and do all the boring stuff without you but on days when I stay home while you're at school I find myself missing you and wishing you were still home with me all the time. That surprised me but it's true. My whole world has been YOU for the past 6 years.
I love when you get home from school and tell me about your day. What you had for lunch, who you played with at recess and what books you read. Your reading is so far advance that you go to the other K class to read with their super reader! Keeping you challenged is a struggle for Mrs C but she has a plan and you're doing AWESOME!
You are an amazing little girl, Iz. Funny and sarcastic and silly and emotional and challenging and the most wonderful that that has ever happened to us. We love you so much and can't wait to see what the next year brings!!!

Mimi's 2nd Birthday!
Yesterday afternoon everyone gathered down at SnL's homestead to celebrate a cutie-pie's 2nd birthday (how on EARTH is she 2 years old already?!?)
There was supposed to be a bouncy castle set up in the back yard but, unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate so we stayed inside :(
The was a cake castle though!!!!

Happy Birthday to Me :)
Yesterday was my birthday and Hubby came through and got me exactly what I wanted!
(um, yeah, that's not MY hand!)
I spent the day relaxing, playing with my Kindle, playing with Isabella and enjoying having the day off. Hubby did all the cooking and the dishes and I didn't have to lift a finger. It was wonderful :)
Remember that last year I made a list of things I wanted to do before I turned 35 (yipe!). I wasn't as good about updating it as I would like to be and not all the things got checked off but I will be dragging the list out one final time and posting one final update later this week :)

Around here a birthday party is all about presents...we don't mess around....we get straight to it :)
