The Weather Outside WAS Frightful!

Yesterday we all got up early (6am...yep! that's early for us!), packed a cooler and packed ourselves into the van. We hit the road by 7:30 headed up to Santa's Village for the day.
.
The temperature when we left the house? 39 degrees!!! Brrrrrrr! The temperature wen we arrive in Jefferson, NH at 9:45am? 52 degrees!!! Still Brrrrrrrrr! No matter how much I want to deny it, FALL is in the air.
.
We had a great day though! The place was practically deserted - no lines AT ALL!!! Iz loved the "Elphabet" game - where you go around the park with your Elf card and look for the statues, one for every letter, and get each letter punched in your card. At the end, you go back to "Elphabet University" where you get a diploma and a Santa's Village key chain :) What a great extra thing for the kids to do, plus it ensures that you see every corner of the park (since the elves are scattered all around).

The first ride of the day :)
.
.
This snowman has been in the park since it opened more than 50 years ago :)
.
.
We found Iz's name on Santa's list!
.
.
We ALL got rings made...a Santa's Village tradition for YEARS!
.
.
I made Hubby go on this ride with Iz....going around and around and up and down is NOT my idea of fun.
.
.
But I DO love the Ferris Wheel :) Hubby had the camera but I wish I had brought it up with me - the view of the mountains was AMAZING!

My little cupcake :)
.
.
After about 2-1/2 hours we took a break for lunch and, by then, the SUN came out so we were able to strip off our sweatshirts and get our dose of Vitamin D.
.
More to come...
